How they meet the needs of their audience: Because they also have an online based magazine they meet the needs of the younger audience as they are online searching for information on artists they are interested in. The blogs means people are able to create a community with people who listen to the same music and also to make the readers feel as though they belong to something important. The advertisements create an ideology of what the target audience would be interested in buying and be able to afford.

What makes magazines so successful?
magazines such as NME and Kerrang use publishers such as IPC Media and Bauer Media Group which are well known publishers and keep their magazines popular. Kerrang stays popular because the magazine has a radio station and a TV music channel.
